About the Journal
Double-Blind Peer Review Policy
General Policy
To ensure impartiality and the highest scientific quality of published contributions, Studia Persica operates a strict Double-Blind Peer Review process.
Under this policy:
-
Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors.
-
Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers assigned to their manuscript.
Evaluation Process
-
Initial Screening (Desk Review): Every submitted manuscript undergoes a preliminary check by the Editorial Board to verify suitability with the journal’s scope and compliance with editorial standards.
-
Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are anonymized and sent to at least two independent expert reviewers (peer reviewers) outside the Editorial Board.
-
Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
-
Originality and scientific relevance
-
Methodological rigor
-
Clarity of argumentation and structure
-
Relevance of references and ethical compliance
-
-
Editorial Decision: Based on the review reports, the Editorial Board communicates one of the following decisions to the author:
-
Accept without revisions
-
Accept with minor revisions
-
Reconsider after major revisions
-
Reject
-
Author Guidelines: Ensuring Anonymity in OJS
To facilitate the double-blind review process, authors must ensure that their manuscript is prepared according to the following instructions prior to uploading it to the OJS platform:
1. Preparing the Anonymous Manuscript (Blind File)
-
Remove identifying information: The main manuscript file must not contain author names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, or acknowledgments.
-
Self-citations: When citing their own previous work, authors should use neutral phrasing (e.g., "As demonstrated in previous studies [1]..." instead of "As we demonstrated in our previous study...").
-
Acknowledgments and Funding: Any acknowledgments, financial support, or funding statements must be provided only in the OJS submission metadata and on a separate Title Page, not within the main manuscript text.
2. Removing Metadata from the File
Before uploading the manuscript (e.g., Word or PDF) to OJS, personal information must be removed from the document properties:
-
In Microsoft Word: Go to File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document. Select Document Properties and Personal Information and click Remove All.
-
In LibreOffice / OpenOffice: Go to File > Properties > General, uncheck "Use state data," and click Reset Properties.
-
In PDF (Adobe Acrobat): Go to File > Properties and clear the "Author" field.
3. Separate Title Page
All author details (Full Name, Affiliation, ORCID ID, Email, Corresponding Author) must be uploaded to OJS as a supplementary file or entered directly into the OJS submission metadata fields during the submission process.
Conflict of Interest and Ethics
If a reviewer discovers the identity of the author or identifies any conflict of interest (financial, personal, or academic), they must notify the Editorial Board immediately and decline the review invitation.
